Never felt a burning need to get myself in deep,
Always at the side lines looking on,
Civil disobedience belonged to history books,
Discrimination all but dead and gone.
But times have changed and I’m afraid of what lies down this road,
For human rights are oh so quickly lost
When ego-driven liars give the masses what they crave,
To win their votes, then leave them in the dust.
Money equals power,
The rich man’s won the day,
Fan the flames of hate.
‘Build a wall and send them home!’
They chant the words out loud,
This land ain’t your land no more,
We’re in deep trouble now.
