It’s jaw dropping that with the NHS facing the biggest financial squeeze in its history – when waiting lists are approaching 3.9 million and A&Es are in crisis – that this week’s Autumn Statement contained not a single penny of extra investment for social care and the NHS.

This weekend, I hope you’ll be able to join thousands of Labour members and supporters in getting the message out there that Tory policies are failing our vital care services and that only Labour will stand up for the NHS and social care.

Join us locally on Saturday:

What: Barnsley Central CLP National Campaign Day

When: Saturday 26 November at 10:30

Where: 5-7 May Day Green, Barnsley S70 1RH

Yes – count me in

I can’t make it – but I can chip in £10 to help

Don’t worry if you’ve not joined a local campaigning session before – there will be plenty of experienced members there who will pair up with anyone new, so you can see how it’s done.

On the day we’ll be sharing the best campaign photos online – just use #CarefortheNHS and we’ll be sure to see them.

If you can’t join us tomorrow, please visit labour.org.uk/nhs to help promote the campaign to your friends.

Labour will care for the NHS. We will always give the NHS the money it needs and will join up services from home to hospital with a properly integrated health and social care service. With your help, we can make sure millions of people hear that message loud and clear this Saturday.

Jonathan Ashworth,
Shadow Secretary of State for Health
