Jeremy Corbyn, said that he refused to “get into the gutter” with rival politicians throwing “personal abuse” at him, during a conference organised by New Labour pressure group Progress at the Trade Union Council building in London last Saturday.

Corbyn who was the keynote speaker at the Progress conference, which represents the more right-wing, Blairite wing of the party, said “I sometimes read the papers and I realise that people say really unkind things about me. They really are quite rude actually,” adding that “I don’t care because I’m not, … getting in the gutter with those people.”
